SPEKBOOM USES CAM PHOTOSYNTHESIS

(CAM = Crassulacean Acid Metabolism)

Calvin Cycle is Basic Photosynthesis Process for All Plant Life to Absorb CO2 & Produce O2 and Sugars.

All plant life can be divided into three (3) different types of metabolic pathways – all using the same Calvin Cycle, but with much different efficiency.

C3 –  Cell design and chemistry absorbs CO2 but not so efficiently.

C4 –  Cell design and chemistry absorbs CO2 very efficiently.

CAM – Cell design and chemistry absorbs CO2 day and night – MOST EFFICIENTLY

PERCENTAGE OF GLOBAL PLANT LIVE USING CAM CARBON FIXATION ¹

SPEKBOOM – CAM ²

  • Can absorb CO2 day and night
  • In host environments it absorbs CO2 at night not to loose H2O
  • Night time CO2 is stored for daylight to perform Calvin Cycle
  • Produces glucose, release O2
  • Does not “breathe out” CO2 like 94% of other plant life
